The Shropshire Art Society Summer exhibition is now on and runs until Saturday 13th July, 9am to 5pm daily (closed Sundays, and finishing at 1pm on the final day). Around 250 original art works are on display, most for sale with prices starting at £50, and all are created by Shropshire artists. The exhibition opened on the afternoon of Saturday 22nd June with a fascinating speech by Councillor Mansel Williams, and a lively preview with guests enjoying drinks and nibbles while taking in the exciting range of art on show. St Mary’s Church is a lovely venue for the exhibition, we do hope you will come and visit.
The Judy Townsend Memorial Prize was awarded to Wen Williamson for her beautiful mixed media ‘Shades of Summer’ and Diana Nuttall was the runner up with ‘The Stretton Hills in Blue Light’.
Thank you to all exhibiting artists, and an special thank you to the members who helped with the set up, including check in and hanging of the work. We are very grateful for your support.
