As well as our two annual exhibitions, we are pleased to have a permanent space in St. Mary’s Church, Shrewsbury, that we use for a changing cycle of exhibitions. Members, do respond to the calls in Focal Points if you would like to take part!

The programme between now and Christmas 2025 is as follows:

11 April – Lena Jarl Churm

17 May – Margaret Rowson and Frank Hilton

21 June – The Summer Exhibition will be using the boards.

12 July – Arts Trail Exhibition. Together with the Summer Exhibition, the Permanent Exhibition will be the Society’s contribution to the 2025 Shrewsbury Art Trail and more information on how to take part will be sent out with the April Focal Points Newsletter.

6 September – The boards are available and free to book for members.

1 November to end of year – Kirstie Edwards + 1 (to be confirmed!)

The way it works:

Shropshire Art Society Permanent Exhibition space in St. Mary’s Church

Take down and set up is on Saturday mornings from 10am to 12 noon. All paintings may be for sale. There is a 25% commission taken on all sales.

Picture title label cards are supplied with pens for members to complete on the set up day, or they can of course bring their own! Materials and sale carriage bags are stored in the trunk directly below the boards. While there is no cafe in St. Mary’s Church, exhibiting members’ contact details will be displayed on the exhibition boards, so that people interested in purchasing work may contact the artists directly.
