A very successful annual Society pre-Christmas lunch was held at the pleasantly situated and welcoming Riverside Inn near Cound. Some 40 members of the Society enjoyed each other’s company and what was agreed by all, to be a delicious meal, served in welcoming surroundings. Blessed with dry weather for our arrival and departure, we all marvelled at the River Severn in full spate, swiftly spreading across the fields to create a huge lake. Ark building might have been on some minds, but we stayed on over coffee for a few words of welcome and thanks to those members present for such good support, from our organiser (Alan Townsend) and his able helper Wilf our Chairman, supported by his wife Jean. All left in good spirits, looking forward to the Society’s programme for the year ahead.
